2020 - 2021 Program Information

What?

This FREE community-wide initiative aims to combat the rising rates of obesity in local children. These programs will challenge students in grades K through 5 to increase their physical activity and make good nutrition choices both in school and at home throughout the year using the 9-5-2-1-0+YOU goals.

Who?

Full schools or individual classrooms at schools throughout Western New York (grades K through 5) can sign up to participate. Classrooms will be required to participate in both the Fitness for Kids Challenge and Play 60 Challenge throughout the year to be eligible for all prize opportunities.

When?

October 5, 2020 through May 31, 2021

Where?

The programs are run in individual classrooms by teachers. In October, each classroom will receive a kit with all of the materials needed to implement both the Fitness for Kids Challenge and Play 60 Challenge, including handouts, stickers, newsletters, activities, and prizes.

Why?

Our community needs to get healthier and you can help! Grand Prizes will be given out to students, teachers, classrooms and schools for highest levels of participation including $1,000 health and wellness grants, gift cards, Tablets, Fitness Trackers, Bills autographed merchandise, Bills game tickets, a full classroom trip to a Buffalo Bills game, and much more.
